What is your favorite holiday and why?

I would have to say Christmas/New Years. Yeah, the presents and everything are nice of course (haha :D), but it's the time of the year when I get to see my entire family, especially those who I only see once, maybe twice, per year. Like Molly and her dad (my uncle). I wish so bad that we lived closer to each other. And this year Marnie and Brent and the kids are coming up so it's going to be even more awesome.

Are you happy at your current job? Do you think there's such a thing as a dream job? What do you hope to be doing five or ten years from now? Are you working towards that goal?

Right now, I'm insanely happy working at the vet office. I never thought I'd ever be happy actually going to work, haha. I have a feeling that I won't be working there for the rest of my life, though. I'll more than likely end up moving somewhere else, which means transferring to another vet clinic. Or maybe I'll end up working at some wildlife rehab center. I just don't know! I just know I love being a vet tech, and want to stick to the field in some way.

I don't feel one ounce of sympathy about it. Sorrow for others? Maybe just the tiniest bit.

I'm not as shallow as it sounds.

What is the longest uninterrupted period of time you've ever watched TV? Were you alone or with a friend/partner? Do you tend to watch more TV when you're happy, depressed, or simply bored?

Does watching movies count? Because Bryan and I sat and watched all three Lord of the Rings movies in a row. I will NEVER do that EVER again. It was a good 10 or 11 hours at least of watching television. Nothing against the movies; in fact they're of my favorite series of movies, but my god... I thought my brain was going to explode.
Usually I never sit and watch more than like an hour of TV a day, if even.

Quote of the day that happened during my chemistry class today:

Teacher: "Think about the acid in your stomach when you throw up, what does it taste like?"
Girl sitting in the row behind me: "BEER."

What's something you would splurge on this year to improve your future?

This seems more like an "end of the year & start of a new year" question. Not a "3 and a half months before the year ends" question. But I still have an answer... & if it doesn't happen this year, then next year. I plan on splurging on new lens attachments for my camera. I'd like more versatility with it & be able to take different types of pictures. I think it would help me get outside more often to do something I really enjoy, and in turn, up the happiness factor in my life. I'd also like to splurge on a plane ticket to visit Ashley in Florida. I have begun saving money, and next summer I plan on splurging for the rest of the ticket and flying down (or possibly taking a car?!? pfft, yeah right).

So this just happened like 5 minutes ago:

Ólafur is like my Icelandic crush, and the music he produces is beautiful.
AND HE REPLIED TO ME, AND I DIDN'T EVEN ASK A QUESTION. AHHHHHHHHHH.
My life is complete.

I found out today that this man is my new advisor:

I hope he is as cool as his moustache is. He's also my Genetics teacher for this semester, and thus far he seems like he'd be a pretty cool guy from his e-mails and such.

It's raining right now and I love it. If I didn't have to work in an hour I'd go out for a walk in the rain.
Things have been looking up lately, or at least I'm trying to be happier. I'm looking forward to Kevin moving into his dorm this weekend so we can hang out! And hopefully I can meet some new people to share good times with. I also IMed Josh for the first time in a while last night just to say hello and to apologize for the last time we wanted to hang out and how it didn't work out, but we plan on getting together when he's home in January, so we'll see how that goes. I hope it ends up working out, I really miss him... he was like a brother to me & we always had fun together. I always tend to make friends with guys and become real close to them, but it seems hard for me to make friends with girls. I have acquaintances who are girls, but no close friends who are girls. I really would like to change that and I'm hoping I can this year.
I bought Imogen Heap's new album this morning and have been listening to it pretty much nonstop. I don't know what it is about her voice but it's so intriguing and relaxing. The melodies and unique sounds put into her music really draw me in.
